Hahae Beach by Robbie Lowe

(Everything but the shark is a true story)

The squawking seagulls
fought angrily over
the fluffy little shrubs
lying silently
in the abandoned dunes

Down by the water
massive white waves
angrily attacked
boiling sand burning my feet

On the horizon
huge islands with treacherous cliffs
stood over the glistening sea

The river rapids
rushed rapidly
roaring wildly
on the hot summer day

A little boy
swimming quite far out
got eaten by a little shark
the life guard said
we had to leave
and because of that
I was not pleased.

This is a great poem, with interesting language devices.

Also the humor at the end! very funny
